Google is expanding Gemini with new features for studying and exam preparation and combining them with a special subscription offer. Students worldwide can use Google AI Plus free of charge for one year, including 400 GB of storage. According to Google, the offer can be activated until 31 December 2026 and will then renew as a paid subscription unless cancelled.

The new tools are aimed specifically at students. They include interactive visualisations and 3D simulations, video generation, and features for research and exam preparation. Students can, among other things, upload extensive course materials and use them to generate study notes or personalised quizzes. The tools are designed to make complex content easier to understand and study tasks easier to follow. The various features are brought together in a central Student Hub. A calendar integration is also planned, allowing exam dates from uploaded course schedules to be added automatically to Google Calendar.

The new features are particularly designed to support preparation for standardised exams such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, JEE and NEET. The English-language AI Mode for study notebooks is set to become available in more than 180 countries. Deep Research is also being integrated into Gemini Live, allowing users to launch more complex research tasks by voice. With these additions, Google is increasingly developing Gemini into a comprehensive AI tool for studying and academic work.
